My good friend Robot* has beginning his awesome Commodities project. His idea is pretty rad. Make art, sell it in an open market online and document the sale. I’m not sure when the piece would end, be it on the wall of buyer’s home, or once the sale has been made, but it’s rad to me. When he talked to me about it the other day I thought it sounded like a happening for 2008.

The happening is the process of selling the art on eBay here and interacting with people as they purchase. You can be part of the art by watching, bidding and buying of his artwork. I love it.

* The reason I call Erik Dalzen, Robot, is because back in the day once upon a time he convinced me that his legal name was Robot. The reason, he said, was because his mother wants a more contemporary spin on Robert. And thus Robot was born. Later I found out it was all a lie..dang robots.
