Display Thursday: Shelves

One way to put your photos on display is with a narrow shelf. There are tons of options, some intense and others more subtle. If you like to change out your photos and frames on a regular basis this is a great way to get in a rotation without excessive nails.

I love how this shelving wraps around the breakfast nook. It’s super elegant and allows for maximum display space.

We don’t have a fireplace but are considering a faux fireplace/heater in our bedroom since it becomes an icebox in the winter. Yes it’s Vegas but believe me it is chilly in there! Anyway point being standing an image on top of the mantle instead of mounting it to the wall allows you to change your mind at a moment’s notice. I love that it’s paired with other art and lanterns so the smaller image doesn’t seem out of scale with the fireplace.

If you want to go for both on the wall and shelf this is a great way to integrate wall mounted and leaning photographs. I really like that they used the rail from the wainscoting and built up from there. Very pretty!

Is a shelf up your alley? I got one at a garage sale for $1 but I haven’t put it up yet. I’m still deciding if it’s me or not. Thoughts?
