Free People SWAP!

Feb 10, 2007  |  Posted by:

Christina told me about the Valentine’s Swap that Free People’s Blog was doing for Valentine’s Day. I got really excited about it and had to be a part of it. I am trading Valentines with Sarah from Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Apparently the whole procrastination thing doesn’t die when you leave college because with a month to work on it I waited until today to make it! But don’t fret it will get there by Valentine’s Day, I promise. OK, maybe the 15th AT THE LATEST!

I made a picture. What else would I make? I painted a frame and put ribbon around it. I used foam core for the matte and put some cute paper on it. I found some great papers at Sam Flax by my work and took a Polaroid of this adorable post card Britta gave me a while ago. I was going to photograph the straight post card but she had written some things on the front that had to be “whited out.” So I used some ribbon to hide it. I also added a paper crane to give it some three dimensionality. I it made out of some beautiful paper with Japanese on it that I got from a UNIQLO catalogue and I got for free on the street when Christina and I were out on Black Friday after Thanksgiving.

All in all I think it turned out pretty well.

Your card was beautiful, Megan. Too bad it has taken me so long to see it. It’s been a busy week. Do you suppose you will hear from the person who received it?

    Love, Mom
