Landscaping

So we’re working on getting our yard (front and back) approved for planting. I’ll be sending off these plans to our landlords for a review to see if we can send them to the HOA for their approval.

The pretty pink thing is a peach tree that I really hope we can plant. The red striped thing is out hammock. It runs between a living pine tree and a dead pine tree. The dead one will be cut down to the point where we can just hang the hammock on it. Poor guy.

There are a lot of desert plants we’ll be putting in and a row of trees along our back wall to prevent onlookers form the commercial property behind us. Unfortunately, right now the wall as a row of dead thorny bushes in front of it and the wall is only about 4 feet high… A little too easy to see into our kitchen and bedroom window.

I got this book about gardening for dry climate. It’s been a really great resource for figuring out what we need to do to prepare the soil and ways to conserve water. I’m really excited!

Have you landscaped your yard? What’s essential to you in a yard?

Very cool! Did you do this whole layout yourself or is there a magical landscaping program out there I ought to know about?? I really like your ideas! I hope you get your peach tree, too. I keep attempting to figure out what to do with our yard, but then I get overwhelmed with the thought, and move on to something else. One day I’ll figure it out!

Yeah it’s a program called ConceptDraw Pro. I just have the Demo so I can’t save anything, which is pretty annoying, but you can export as a PNG so I just keep the program open.

I hope that helps! It was really helpful to me to go to the nursery and get a book as well as have this yard planning thingy. Don’t get overwhelmed!
