Monochromatic
I have been thinking about starting a monochromatic series. Found man-made things in natural places that blend together. I’m not sure that this is exactly what I want. But it was a perfect cloudy day as we passed by this structure that has been in the process of being built ever since we moved here in January. I’ve been wanting to photograph it for a while. There are a lot of buildings in progress in Vegas. No one can finish their projects. I’m making sure this project of mine will finish.
Anthropologie Finds
I got the new Anthropologie cataloge this week and became immediately lusty over all the new goodies. Good heavens, I am in trouble!

Sir Luke and I went down to California over Memorial Day Weekend. We drove in form Las Vegas Saturday morning and went straight to the Getty. They have some stellar exhibits there right now. The Becher photographs were wonderful to see in person. I would love to have a set someday. The Sander portraits were really stunning. There was also a pretty awesome video exhibit. As usual I gravitated toward the less obscure like Wegmen and his dog Man Ray.
We had a grand time. I forget how much I miss California until I go. I really love trees and hills. Vegas isn’t the place for either of those things. Maybe someday we’ll be able to go back. But for now I can enjoy the view.
I really want to figure out what this succulent is, above (Thanks T!) for our yard. If you have any ideas let me know.
The Smiths
I have been working on these photos for the past month. I put together a preview for my friend Tess and her parents. Hopefully I can prove I’ve got some skills and will be able to photograph her wedding, come August. I’ll be adding these and much more to my website next week.
