Tile Tattoos
I found 2Jane via Domino online magazine. The have these great tile tattoos that make blase tiles have a little more vibrant.
I think they’re pretty cool but there aren’t very many options. I think I could figure out my own tile designs. The only snafu in my endeavor is the fact that we don’t have any real tile in our house, aside from the square of them on the floor in the entryway. Hmmm, I’ll get back to you on this.
In other news, my “y” is defunct. First it was my “d,” then it was the “s,” followed by the “a.” After which it was the CapLock. Now it’s begun again with the “y.” I can see where this is going…trewq.
Elevision
I found this through the 20×200 blog. Someone strapped a camera on an elephant’s trunk. I figured it would be pretty easy to strap a little camera onto a giant trunk would be pretty easy but get a load of this camera!
Poor little elephant!
But the pictures this elephant captures are pretty sweet. The Hi-Def camera is able to get such sharp images because of the steadiness of the elephant.
Love it.
Curtains Continued
That heart is a pin cushion I made when I was probably ten. The pins were left over from a Polaroid board my mom made for the wedding. The carpet is new and I am loving my polka-dot fabric more and more every time I look at it.
My mom helped me figure out these French seems. I wasn’t buying it at first. She was having my sew my pom poms on the back of the curtain. I couldn’t wrap my head around the concept that they would end up on the front. But in the end they did.
The dark blue crepe material for the bottom fo the curtains was crazy stretchy. Not so good when you’re trying to make a curtain that is the same length from one side to the other. In order to maintain my 28″ length I had to use Sir Luke‘s tape measure. It ended up working out really well and was a lot easier then my regular sewing tape measure because Sir Luke’s actually stayed where I wanted it to be, unlike the fabric. I spent the majority of last Saturday pinning. I hate pinning…I like sewing, but I HATE pinning.
Corporate Pig
I don’t remember who introduced me to Corporate Pig originally. It may have been part of my old days in the dungeon of the HBLL at BYU of going to a site I liked and then clicking on all of their favorite sites. It was tedious. That’s why I like blogs. And Google Reader.
Meredith Dittmar of Corporate Pig makes sculptures of little Guys. That’s about it. but they are pretty freaking awesome Guys. I’ve been pining for a Guy for a long time. Recently they started posting to Etsy.com. She uses polymer clay to make these Guys as rad as can be.
I love it all. If only I had continued my love of Femo dough into adulthood. Who knows, maybe some day I’ll be making my own.
On Meredith’s site she sells Guys and Clones. Guys are originals and have a lot of character. Clones are “mass produced” and are not the only edition. Clone # 13 is one of my favorites.
I like these from Etsy too.
Canvas or Hard Top?
Some of you may have heard that the canvas on the top of our lovely Falcon has gone through a period of baldness. We took him into a “hair” specialist and found out that the Falcon has been wearing a toupee for years! So, we can either return Falckie to his original glory with a clean paint job and a regs hard top or restore his toupee.
What do you think?
Toupee or not to toupee? That is the question.
Draping Mom-a-lou
My mom took the job of modifying the sheer drapes that were hanging on tension rods in the windows. They were too long for the window but didn’t touch the floor. So she added the dark blue crepe to the sheer that she cut to fit the size of the actual window. This way there is a dark blue panel that will meet the floor and the drape looks like it’s meant for the window.
It was a good way for us to save money on fabric. Probably not a bad idea for a lot of people. Use a pre-made sheer and embellish it to make it your own and fit your space better.
Isn’t my mom cute?
I still haven’t figured out how to make Sir Luke‘s speakers look less obtrusive…
