All my troubles seemed so far away
Yesterday, was a good day. I awoke to a text at 7:30AM from across the country. My parents called at 8:30AM and Sir Luke brought me this glory at 9:30AM.
Waffles are delicious! Sir Luke knew I couldn’t eat this scrumptious delight without some of my mom’s homemade apricot jam. You need some in your life.
I actually caught Sir Luke riding his bike (I was out on an interview, and no it’s not going to work out) over to “the post office.” I found out the next day that he was ordering this lovely from Tiger Lily. They supplied my long stem red rose for Valentine’s Day as well.
I got to pick this gorgeous white tote from Target with some of our Monopoly money.
I couldn’t believe that Sir Luke spent his gift cards on two fantastic gifts. I’ve already listened to the Original Broadway Production of Xanadu about five times. He had to come and ask me how many more times I was going to listen to it today. What? I like it!
And hello! My So Called Life on DVD? Please, my life is now complete! But wait, there’s more! I had a scrumptious dinner at home to top it off. Five gold stars to you Sir Luke.
Thanks to all the well wishers. You are splendid.
Consumption & Blog Stalking
I’m supposed to be painting my hallway today. I’m supposed to be working on Britta‘s surprise baby gift. I’m supposed to be working on my website (which I want to go live at the end of this month). I’m supposed to have a job. I’m supposed to be doing a lot of things. But today I’m trying to give myself a little leeway. Even if I don’t think I deserve it, seeing as how I’ve been doing next to nothing for the past month…
Britta is preggers, as you might have guessed by now. I stopped by her cute blog to look at some of her preggers photos that she and her friend Kim had taken at her work. Then I read Barb’s comment on Britta’s blog post, which led me to Barb’s blog. Which led me to her post on consumerism and purging. She made the point that our great ability to have anything at our fingertips has led us to be an “I need” society. My last post is evidence. As are MANY of my other posts. I do think that there is a certain amount of therapy in simply posting about an item. It almost makes me feel like I own it. That I went and sought it out and it’s mine. And then I show you how awesome my taste is on my blog. That last sentence was a joke. Seriously.
That’s all I have to say about consumption and blog stalking.
I won!
Ever since Erik blogged about winning a Drawing Project drawing I’ve been keeping my eye out. Jason posts a drawing almost everyday and gives them away to whomever e-mails him first. Then he just asks for your address and BAM! FREE ART!!
Jason is also a featured artist on Jen Beckman’s 20×200 art site. If you don’t already love it, you will. Cheap, good art, waiting for you to reach out and snatch it. I am the proud owner of this, this, and this. Jason’s contribution is particularly fantastic because each piece is original. You can read more about it here. I didn’t realize it was the same guy until today.
Nevadan
I am now an official Nevadan. I have a new Nevada driver’s license and registered to vote in the great state of NV.
It was a long long long wait at the DMV. I haven’t been since I was sixteen; I suppose it was time.
I got 40/49 questions right. Which is good considering I “studied” for about 3 minutes before the test and they asked me tricky questions like:
A ______________ sign that is black and white and tells a driver rules and regulations about the road.
A. Route
B. Construction
C. Regulatory
This may be an easy answer for you but I don’t know what these things are called. I skipped it the first go around and ended up answering it correctly in the end. Hooray!
Garfield Minus Garfield
I found this through Lee Lou Ann’s Blog.
It’s also my new favorite. I used to read Garfield cartoons as a kid. I also watched his Saturday morning cartoon. I also like how crazy Jon is.
