The Best Friday
In case you didn’t know, what rock have you been under, I’ve been unhappy with my job for a long time. Yesterday, February 16, 2007, was my last day at MCA. I cannot even tell you how relieved I am that I don’t have to go in on Monday. It makes me feel like a heavy brick has been lifted off of my chest.
The sad part is all the people I’m leaving behind. I made some really great friends there and if it hadn’t been for them I don’t think I would have lasted as long as I did. They bought me an enormous cheesecake as part of a going away celebration. Even John, one of the accountants who never eats sweets, had some!! It was that good. It was a great way to end a grueling experience. I wish Melissa the best of luck in continuing her working career there.
Me and Amy our receptionist, “Silly Mormon!” Oh man I love her!
Jackson the resident mascot and entertainment
Sarah helps cut my fair well cheesecake.
Almost the whole gang!
Turns out the Art Carnival next door had a flood and got rid of all of their silk screens!!
Becca made some pumpkin pecan pancakes that were delish.
Best of all I got to go to bed early with the peace of mind that my life is going to be changing for the better come Monday morning.
CatSKILLS!!!
I finally finished our montage of our trip to the Catskills from the first weekend in February. It was a well deserved trip after being stuck in the city for a month. I drove up with Peter, Kristin, Jen, Christy, and Christina in a Zip Car mini-van on Friday night after I quit my job.
It made for an interesting ride as I tried to get over my anxiety and guilt about giving two weeks notice and then leaving “early” at 6:30pm to catch the posse leaving from my house in Harlem.
It was one of my better weekends in New York. There is nothing like 13, 20 somethings all
ret and rarin’ to go. We caused some ruckuses, i.e. changing the sign at Friar Tuck‘s and doing donuts in the parking lot. There was also the hassle that the tubing people gave us for going down the slopes with 13 people. We were also reprimanded for having a dance party at 11:30 pm by some fellow vacationers that weren’t quite as chipper as us.
All in all it was amazing. And if you have 16 minutes of free time, I suggest checking out this video. I hear that it doesn’t seem that long because it’s broken up into short snippets. Then again those people were all on the trip. Who knows if you will find it interesting.
I wish you had been there. For real!

Happy Valentine’s Day/Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad
Yes, that’s right. My parents got married on Valentine’s Day in 1976. Say hello to the awesome!
I went and saw “Dream Girls” tonight with Richard. I thought it was great, but I think Richard might have thought a little more of it had he known it was a musical before everyone started speaking to each other in song. It was pretty awesome.
Some Tormented by Homosexuality Look to a Controversial Therapy
A guy in my ward here was interviewed by the New York Times.
I want to know what your thoughts are on the article.
It’s interesting to see how he is “managing” or whatever the PC term is that you want to use to pretty much say overcoming same sex attraction. I can’t imagine. I think he is such a strong person for being so open as to talk about this hot button issue which will most assuredly be attacked from the religious side as well as the gay community. But for Corey, vocalizing his journey is important because he feels that his personal experiences can help others.
I’m not sure what I would do if I was in his position but I commend him for working so hard to find his way.
Hooray for Sunday Nights!
I have been having so much fun this evening!
First, I worked on the video for our trip to the Catskills, for about 3 hours.
Then, I ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Following the PBJ I ate some popcorn on Holly’s bed whilst Becca and I played Upwords. I almost beat her but then we tied… In case that means nothing to you; Becca loses nothing and I don’t win anything. If it hadn’t been for the word fife I could have taken her downtown
Check out this rack!
There was a spontaneous dance party.
But not before I put my hair in Becca’s Velcro curlers.
The best part of the night was the awesome pictures we took together. See below
Best quotes of the night:
“Becca, I can’t stop looking at your rack!”
“Becca, I am beating you with my rack!”
