Happy Friday!
Happy 11-11-11!! I’m probably the only photographer on the planet not shooting a wedding today. But I am tomorrow! Here’s one of my favorite images from last Saturday’s wedding. Check out the Facebook to see a few more sneak peeks! And “like” my page for crying out loud!
Loved Steph’s cage veil! More details to come!!
Display Thursday: Hanging It
Well it’s been a mighty long time since I’ve done a Display Thursday! So I’m finally getting my groove back before my “groovy” shoot tonight with the Scheme girls.
Since I’m hanging out today waiting for test results on my little dog’s seizure from yesterday (uh…totally scary) I thought I’d share some ideas for literally hanging your photographs.
First, I adore this idea of using clothes pins to clip images to strings of lights. I would opt for a more retro strand a-la a french bistro and use bigger images. Each light actually highlights the image so you can see them in the dark. So cute!

This cute idea uses wooden skirt hangers to hang artwork which could easily be changed for photographs, or mix and mingle artwork with your family photos. It’s fun and quirky and I can dig it. This might have to make an appearance in my Anthropologie style guest room
Do you love these? I’m considering all of them. So…I need more free walls, fo sho.
We See Love: DIY Wedding Gift
Nicki is a super good friend of mine and when I heard she was getting married I was wishing and hoping and thinking and praying that I could photograph her wedding. And when she asked me if I would I was thrilled!
We See Wedding Love: Meredith & Chris
This bride knows light. She specifically chose her time to get married so she could have the “golden light” that happens just before the sun sets. Her favorite light of the day. It was blissful to say the least and the Las Vegas LDS temple is a beautiful backdrop for photographing a stunning couple. Meredith had her dress custom made and I was drooling over it. It’s so different and stunning. It fit her perfectly and looked unbelievable. Chris looked good too, don’t get me wrong. But it was definitely all about Meredith. She made her bouquet with faux flowers and lots of mini frames and mementos to personalize it with all sorts of people that mean the world to her. I loved it.
We See Family Love: Krahenbuhls
Kray-N-Bule. It looks harder to say than it is. This family is first, gorgeous and second full of life! Peyton and Hailey are DARLING little girls who are not afraid to get dirty or hunt for bugs. Their little brother, Jax, just does what he can to keep up! As do mom and dad. I had a great time following this brood around the Henderson Wetlands. It was a very hot day even for the middle of October. In the mid 90s! I had been in UT all that week and was so not prepared to be sweating again!
They all toughed it out and we got some beautiful shots!
Capree & Wrigley
Capree and I have known each other for nine years. It actually hurts my soul a little to think that I began college nine years ago. Where on earth does the time go?! Anyway, aside from feeling old I absolutely adore Capree. And her doggie Wrigley. Capree write a seriously awesome blog called My Adventure is Your Advantage (AKA MAIYA) all about amazing modern design. She also writes for some other blogs, Curbly, Grassroots Modern, Wantist and 2Modern. That’s how good she is people. Oh and you should also follow her boards on Pinterest. And get one of her sweet photos in etsy. Anyway, Miss Capree and Sir Wriggles needed new photos of themselves to plaster all over the internets and I was gladly able to supply said photos on my recent trip to UT (pronounced uh-t for my amusement).
Behold, adorable Capree and cute as a button Wrigley.
Are you not in love with her guest room? Because I want to live in it. You can read all about her guest room designing adventures here. Capree’s makeup was done by the phenomenal Tristan of Tristan’s Beauty in a Box.
Ripley got to visit for a couple days with the Kimballs and had the best time ever. She’s totally depressed and missing them. Especially Capree’s husband, Brady. And even though Wrigley is spelled very differently than Ripley, it sounds very much the same. Which means when we first got Ripley both Sir Luke and I called her Wrigley, constantly. And why Capree resorted to called her “Little Lady” and “Pip” while in her care.
Here are Wriggles and Pippy together, in love, best friends, FOREVER!
