Display Thursday – Symmetry
sym-me-try noun: regularity of form or arrangement.
I LOVE the photos of these children on the wall in this living room. Yes the images are the same size but the real symmetry comes from the balance between the subject being pushed far to the right side in one image and to the left in the other. Very yin and yang.

I love how the photos of this family flank the center of the family, mom and dad. Don’t feel restrained by typical sizing. There are many options of interesting configurations that create symmetry on your wall. The center photo is 42″ x 42″. Fill those walls!
Or there is always the standard grid. Easily done with the same frames in a pattern that works best for your space. I love that the lamps continue the symmetry on either side of the photographs.

Kari & Gareth: BELOVED Las Vegas
I’ve started a new session option for couples. It’s called BELOVED and it’s unlike anything you’ve ever done before. This session is about you and your partner. Whether you’ve been together 6 months, 6 years or 60 years.
Yes, you are in front of the camera. Yes, I am taking photos. But this is a celebration of love. A reconnecting of the two of you. This time spent together will be happening between the two of you. I’m just here to facilitate and to document it.
Here is Kari and Gareth’s BELOVED session in Red Rock.
Display Thursday – Fabric
I love sewing. Love it. I make quilts and stuffed animals and curtains and on and on. I’ve been sewing since I was five. My mother taught me and her grandmother taught her. She even made my wedding dress. Don’t be too jealous. I knew I’d have to incorporate fabric into photo displays somehow and I am drooling over this first project.
I love cyanotypes. They have a beautiful quality to them. I love how it makes every photograph look kind of romantic and vintage. The best kind of combination. This pillow is super easy to make!

A keepsake board like this is lovely for combining the old and new. Easily make one at the link below or purchase one. Use fabric to match the decor in a room and rotate images for a fresh look.

This is a great gift for Father’s Day or as a gift a child could make for gifts. I love the simple an chic nature of this bookmark. It’s totally classy.

There are endless things you can do with photographs and fabric. What things would you do?
Looking forward to photographing my sister-in-law’s wedding this weekend! It’s going to be wonderful and full of lots of family and friends. I seriously can’t wait!!!
Stetson: Las Vegas Senior Portraits
This guy is awesome. Stetson was so willing to be photographed, which is super rare in males. Just ask my husband. Stetson plays lacrosse and went late to practice to shoot around the art district with me and Alexis and Danielle. We all had a lot of fun.
Thanks Stetson for being the only guy to actually enjoy having his picture taken! You can view more images and purchase prints here.
Danielle: Las Vegas Senior Portraits
I’ve known Danielle for a few years now. She is such a gem; so kind and generous. she is up for anything and so willing to help out when needed. Her older sister is a photographer, so being in front of the camera is second nature to her. She was a dream to photograph.
again a gigantic thank you to Your Beauty Call for Danielle’s beautiful hair and makeup! This team is fantastic. Love you, LaVey and Janine!

Alexis: Las Vegas Senior Portraits
I had such a great time with three seniors (class of 2012!) last week. I do not remember being this good looking in high school. It was my first time venturing down to the Art District in downtown Las Vegas. The great thing about the area is walking around a short distance completely changes the scenery.
