Adrian & Andrew: Wedding at TPC Summerlin
Goodness me, too many great things to say about this couple. I was so nervous to tell my couples from last fall that I would be super pregnant while shooting their weddings. It was continually amazing to me how happy they were for my exciting news and not concerned in the slightest about my skills and abilities on their wedding days. More than even I had, at times.
And no couple, more than Adrian and Andrew were championing me on. Adrian has become such a dear friend and being able to participate in their celebrations was an honor. If you aren’t sure what love is people, look right here. This couple is in love. They embody it. Giving and considerate of one another and full of joy in each other.
Being the nicest people ever, they invited me to their rehearsal dinner to get to know some friends and family before the big event the following day. I was welcomed more than I ever expected! As soon as Andrew’s mother found out I was the photographer who had taken her son and future daughter-in-law’s photos she grabbed me for a big hug. It was so wonderful. To top it off the bride and groom gave me a sweet gift which included things for my baby girl. So thoughtful!
Adrian looked absolutely stunning on her wedding day. So much so that we had to keep pausing with photos because Andrew would become completely overcome with emotion at the sight of her. I am telling you, serious love. And because tradition was so important to these two they didn’t opt for the first look with each other. Instead, Adrian chose to have a first look with her dad. New favorite, folks!

Katie & Mika: Kauai Wedding at Plantation Gardens
It is always an honor and a privilege to photograph friend’s weddings. I absolutely love to photograph and tell love stories, so when a friend asks me to do that for them I am over the moon excited to celebrate with them in such an important way.
I’ve known Katie since kindergarten. That’s 25 years, folks! Not too many people have friends for that long, but I have quite a few that I can count up to 25 years of friendship with. Katie is one of those people that will always make you laugh and is the most kind and thoughtful. She met Mika when they were in college together in San Diego. And lucky her, he’s from Kauai!
The two have been inseparable for years, but wasn’t able to meet Mika until we arrived for the wedding festivities in Hawaii! He’s as great a man as Katie deserves, and more. They are such a great match and I’m so very glad that we were able to attend the wedding and photograph it. I was definitely not used to such high humidity. With the heat and being 6 months pregnant I was a little slow moving but with the help of my fabulous assistant husband, Sir Luke, I was able to capture a gorgeous day filled with sunshine, a little rain, and lots of love.
Congratulations to this beautiful couple!

Jennifer & Brian: Red Rock Canyon Elopement Las Vegas
Jennifer and Brian were my first ever couple from Scotland. When Jennifer told me that Brian was planning on wearing his kilt, I about died of happiness. I was honored that they chose me to photograph their elopement out at Red Rock Canyon last July.
Being in the first trimester of my pregnancy and knowing the heat of the day would catch up quick I opted for a giant cooler full of water and lots of snacks for our mini hike up to the scenic ceremony site that Angie Kelly of Peachy Keen Unions found for us. I was in no condition to go trekking around to find any place and I was so grateful to her for taking the lead on that decision!
Luckily for Jennifer and Brian, the insane fire up at Mount Charelston (that had closed Red Rock Canyon the weekend before their wedding date and coated the valley in a red smoke) had been contained and the park was open. I was so nervous the previous weekend that their dream location wouldn’t work out. Can you imagine coming all the way to Las Vegas and the beautiful place you wanted to say your vows was close?! Lots of prayers were said, let me tell you what.
Congratulations again, you two!

Harry Potter Halloween Party DIY
My sister, Kathy, has thrown a Harry Potter party at Halloween for years. It’s been the stuff legends are made of. So much so that her friends and neighbors collect things for the party all year long to give to her. Because she’s always on the move with the party planning and hosting so there aren’t usually photos. So even though the legend has lived for years I’ve barely known what she has done.
Last October I travelled to Utah for the wedding of Juliet and Stuart. As soon as I knew I’d be up in Kathy’s neck of the woods in October I told her I wanted to shoot the party she had been planning for months. I’m so glad she was able to push the date of the party around my visit because it was the most incredible party I’ve ever been to.
Like really and truly the most amazing party of my life. I’m so grateful that I got to be there and help in the smallest way possible (I made the kids all Felix Felicis necklaces).
Now for an epic amount of photos that will make you totally jealous.
She did several classes and then the Tri-Wizard Tournament. Potions, Care of Magical Creatures, and Muggle Studies were amazing. There were snacks and of course the Honeydukes! I’m so impressed with her creativity and awesomeness.
Have a magical Halloween!
Tina & Adam: Married Mandarin Oriental Wedding Las Vegas
There is no way I can even describe how wonderful it was to photograph Tina and Adam’s wedding day. The first time I chatted with Tina was when she was on a trip with her friends to find the perfect wedding dress in NYC. And boy did she find the most perfect dress for her wedding day. She looked stunning.
Scheme Events coordinator, Tara, planned the most perfect day for Tina and Adam. I was blown away at every turn. The florals were unreal. I’m a huge fan of Catherine’s work from Layers of Lovely. I recommend her whenever I can. She has an amazing way of letting flowers be themselves and combine them in the most perfect way. Seeing Tina and Adam’s face when they walked into the reception space was absolutely priceless. Just incredible! Tina couldn’t even take her eyes off the cake and dessert table provided by Peridot Sweets for a kiss from Adam. Too cute!
These two had music coming out of every corner of the night. It was a party beginning to end and I’m so grateful that I was able to contribute in even a small way.
Congratulations you two! Love you both to the moon!
Tina & Adam: City Center Las Vegas Engagements
I’m pretty sure Tina and Adam are the funniest most charming couple I’ve had the pleasure to photograph. From the instant we met on the night of their rehearsal when we did their engagement session, I knew it was going to be the best. Yes, we did their engagement session the night before their wedding.
I always encourage couples coming to Vegas for their wedding to do an engagement session, no matter how last minute it has to be. Why? Because it’s the absolute best way for me to get to know my couples and to ease them into the wedding day paparazzi. We’re not all Beyonce with cameras around us constantly, it’s so important to feel like you can be yourself in front of the camera and I work hard to make that happen. Engagement sessions are the best way to do that.
Adam is a hugger and I was so glad to get a big hug right when I got there. We met up at Mandarin Oriental and strolled around City Center for a quick session before they headed off to their rehearsal. Love them both!
