Merrick White Fine Art
I’ve always been curious how one of my photographs would transfer to a painting. Merrick White and I met last summer when I photographed her baby shower and her new family. She’s a brilliant painter and let me know she was starting to offer to paint your photographs into paintings!
My sister Kathy has been taking photos of her boys walking on the beach with my dad for years. In October when we went to Disneyland together we made sure to do another shot. We decided it would be a GREAT gift for my dad for Christmas to have one of the photographs made into a painting.
Merrick did a fantastic job and we couldn’t be happier with the result! I framed in in a beachy type frame to continue the theme. I know my dad will love it!
Visit her website and blog to view more of her paintings. Let her know I sent you!
Christmas Cards!
I loved photographing the Hepworth family. Lindsay had a vision for her Christmas cards and I was happy to execute them. They came out so dang cute and I LOVE them! They are 5×5 square pieces of perfection.
“Merry Christmas, from our GNOME to yours” How cute is that?
What do you think?
Photo Ideas: Part III
Photographic Favors are another way to incorporate your bridal and engagement images. Here are a few cute ideas that won’t totally break the bank!
Magnets – Lots of people use engagement photos for Save the Dates but I think they could be adorable favors as well and themed to the wedding.
Chocolate bars – (I did this at my wedding) Sir Luke and I wanted to incorporate one of our favorite things into our favors, movies. So we took this idea from Martha Stewart and ran with it. We took our faces and incorporated them into movie posters (Photoshop skills come in handy sometimes!). Another, and much less intensive, option would be to use a different engagement photo for different kinds of candy bars. We used a sticker with the date and our names and a big THANK YOU! to hold the “wrapper” together on the back and labeled each bin so guests knew the flavors.

Mini Buttons – Love cute buttons as favors! Give them in threes, one photo, and a couple things that represent you and your wedding style. So cute!

CD cover – Make your favorite mix for your guests and use you cute faces to adorn the disc or cover. Liner notes could be special thanks and dedications to the people that helped you most in your relationship or to each other.

Soda Bottles – Jones Soda will print your bottles for you with you images but you can also make your own with glass bottles. Just print images on labels and apply to soda bottles.

Mini Calendars – If your wedding is toward the end or beginning of a new year what greater gift for your guests than a mini calendar! I love the idea of spreading love through the entire year.
Photo Ideas: Part II
There are so many cure ways to decorate at a wedding. It’s easy to incorporate your engagement or bridal portraits into the decor and adds personal touches all along the way!
Bunting banners – They seem to be all the rage these days and how cute would it be to alternate fabric flags with photograph flags?!

Table numbers – are another great way to add reflections of you and your fiance with photographs. Either framed photos or card stock cutouts are perfect. Plan ahead with your photographer and take photos with numbers!

Framed Photos – As gifts to friends whose weddings I’ve photographed I print and frame images for dessert or sign in tables.
Candle Holders – Print photos on vellum and wrap votive candle holders to illuminate your engagement photos

Nichol Grandkids
These cute kids are my niece and nephews. My sister wanted a photo for her mom for Christmas and I was much obliged to supply one. We had an impromptu photo shoot in my parents’ front yard right before dinner.
I love these kids! Lots of missing teeth these days! View the entire event and order prints here.
Hepworth Family – Las Vegas Family Photography
The Hepworths were our first friends when we moved to our new house and have continued to be so much fun! They are as quirky as Sir Luke and I and I totally appreciate it. For Halloween, Lindsay made gnome costumes for the entire family and wanted to incorporate the hats and beards into their family photos.
I for one think it’s completely adorable! They are such a beautiful family. It was such a great morning spent in Solista Park! I can’t wait to share their Christmas cards in a couple weeks!
