Shewell Family – Los Angeles Family Photographer
This shoot has been a long time coming on the blog. I met Ashlee and Nate at Paramount Ranch to photograph their budding family with baby Jaxson. His cheeks were calling to me. I just wanted to sneak a pinch!
It was a lovely evening and the light was a perfect accent to this gorgeous family. Ashley and I have been friends for over ten years, are we that old?! I had such a great time with them and it was fantastic to catch up.
Thanks for such a wonderful shoot! You can view the entire event and order prints here.
MIA
I know I’ve been completely absent from this blog for the last month, but for good reason! Lots of things have been going on and it’s been wonderful!
Here’s a tidbit from my first ever Las Vegas Chapel wedding, complete with Elvis impersonator, to hold you over until I can catch up on all my goings on!
Melissa’s Cupcakes
I’ve been working with my friend Melissa on her new business. She’s starting to make cupcakes for all occasions. Let me tell you this woman can BAKE! Good night. Every time I go to her house I prep myself before I go, “I will not eat her baked goods, I will not eat her baked goods.” But, inevitably, every time I get there I can’t resist. Everything just looks too good and then one bite in and I’m hooked.
If you’re looking for someone to bake for your next party in Vegas she is the woman to call! Her website isn’t up yet but you can send me an email and I will get you her information. meg (at) megruth (dot) com
Here are some shots from our recent photo shoots.
Surprises
Sometimes you’re taking a picture of a cake and the bride tries to get a bite of cake from the groom. Lisa and I laughed so hard. It couldn’t have been better if I planned it.
Las Vegas Wedding Planner: Feature!
I was so honored to be asked for a Vendor Spotlight from the talented Juliet of Green Orchid Events. She has a fantastic wedding planning blog called Las Vegas Wedding Planner. She gives great tips to help you plan your big day. You should subscribe!
Thanks so much Juliet!
Jeff & Lisa: Married! Oakland Wedding Photography
I met Lisa in college but became close friends while she was doing her internship in New York. She became great friends with both Sir Luke and me while we first started dating. She served a mission for our church in St. Louis Missouri and shortly after she returned she realized that her friend Jeff was becoming more than a friend.
Lisa is from Northern California and when she and Jeff decided to tie the knot they opted for Lisa’s hometown. They were married in the Oakland Temple on a perfect morning. The haze burned off and we had a gorgeous sunny day. The reception was held in Lisa’s parents’ backyard. They had a live band comprised of a few local high school students who were unbelievably talented. The flowers were outstanding and some of the most fun arrangements the florist said she had ever done. Lisa’s dress was perfect for her. The collar was divine but there were so many great details on it that I find it hard to choose a favorite!
Lisa has a beautiful voice and upon the chanting request of the entire reception crowd she sang Jeff a beautiful song. It really was the best part of the evening. She can croon like nobody’s business!
Thanks so much to Lisa and Jeff for letting me be a part of your glorious day! I had so much fun hanging out with your friends and family and taking boat loads of photos!
