My good friend Katy from BYU days came to Vegas on Saturday and we were able to go to lunch at a place I’ve been dying to try for a while now, The Spicy Pickle!
It was totally delish and so much fun catching up with Katy. I love when friends come to town, even if it’s for a short visit! Thanks Katy!
P.S. I really need new sunglasses. I miss my gigantics.

Hello all!
I know I rarely blog twice in a day but I found out about this AMAZING contest (thanks James!) hosted by Microsoft I couldn’t help but enter. It’s all about the dream assignment that you’ve always wanted to photograph. I have been dreaming of driving around the country, particularly the mid west and photographing small towns.
Here’s a little blurb from my entry:
“I want to get back to basics, small town basics. I want to travel the country meeting and learning about people in every corner I can find. My affinity for small towns is ingrained in me. My mother grew up in a town of 500 in North Dakota.”
I started something like it in 2005 in my mother’s home town of Turtle Lake, ND. It was such an amazing experience and I can’t even imagine being able to do it again. So I would LOVE it if you would vote for me!

Boat Show!
Shawn and Nichole invited us to a boat show at the Bass Pro Shop last Saturday. I hadn’t been there yet but I heard it was huge and had some fun stuff to look at, even if you don’t buy a boat. But since Shawn and Nichole are actually interested in buying a boat we got to tour around them and ooh and ahh. I’m pretty sure Nichole was sold on a certain model. It was very pretty.
Sir Luke and I have a goal to be friends with people who own a boat. So, Shawn…maybe you should approve of ye olde boat purchase? Eh? Eh? I think so.
Thanks to Out of the Ordinary Photo I had my camera with me and took so photos from the lovely day. And although I have no pictures of it the mini shooting arcade was really fun (even if my arms are too short to comfortably hold the fake rifle and got tired after about two missed shots). And they have a couple rad fish tanks including a salt water tank that is gorgeous. So if you’re in town and need something free to do take a little jaunt down the the Bass Pro Shop. It’s worth the step off the strip. Scouts honor.
