Giving THANKS!
This week I will be featuring things I’m thankful for.
Today I’m thankful for $20 jeans at Old Navy.
Last week while working on getting stuff ready for the Soho truck (we’re opening a gallery in Soho in the coming weeks) I had an accident.
I wrenched my back in January while we were subletting in Jersey City. Every now and again when I lift heavy things it kicks my butt again.
I was trying to save my back while carrying around heavy boxes of books and I did a deep knee bend and…RIP. There went ye olde jeans. I spent the rest of the day hoping no one saw anything they weren’t supposed to.
Unfortunately for me, those are the only jeans I owned and I had to go directly to the store after work. I found a great pair of grey jeans for only $20.
Thank the heavens.
What was his name O?
The other day my friend Rachel came into work a little tired. Tired from a night of pure BINGO! She goes semi-regularly and is hard core. We started talking and decided we needed to have a girls night out of BINGO!
Rachel – HR (the veteran won $100! I was just really excited to play)
Amy – Executive Assistant and she’s from North Dakota, the land of my people!
Amber – One Woman Show aka. PR/Purchasing/Shipping Manager..the list is endless
Rachel was the mother hen watching over her inexperienced chicks as we tried to dob the right squares at the right time. To dob is to use the inky dobber and mark the corresponding boxes when called by the announcer. It was SO fun!
I was SO close to a cover-all (meaning all my spaces on my card were covered). If you’re ever in town I’m taking you to BINGO! It’s only $5 and it’s super fun, even if you don’t win anything.
Here’s some tips:
- Make sure your cell phone is off, people might boo you if it rings.
- Don’t yell BINGO! unless you have a BINGO!, people might boo you if you do.
- Make sure you get excited if you have BINGO!, people might boo you if you don’t.
Plus you can hear awesome jokes like this: What do you call a woman who sells her body for spaghetti?
A PASTATUTE!
Now that is a Las Vegas keeper.
LEFSE!!!
There are a few contests out there right now asking for favorite holiday foods as entries. My very favorite holiday food is Lefse (pronounced lef-sa). It’s a Norwegian potato tortilla-like delight. There are specific lefse tools needed to make said lefse.
But don’t worry, Lefsetime.com will fulfill all of your lefse needs. I’ve got a pan and a lefse stick. All I need really now is the corrugated rolling pin!
Lefse Lenny says, “Enjoy Lefse…all year long!”
Improv Everywhere
I love Improv Everywhere. Especially this new mission.

My new favorite
If you ever look at my shared items over on the left or share with me in Google Reader you’ve already seen this form Make Magazine (which I LOVE as much as I love Readymade Mag). But I was so excited about it I had to show you here.
Can you imagine? Making a Camera from a scanner. I love cameras. I really want to make my own. I think this will definitely be a fun project for me next weekend. I can’t wait!
I’ll show you what I come up with once I convince Sir Luke this is a swell idea.
The Artful Home
I got an ornament catalog in the mail from Atrful Home. I honestly don’t know how all these places get my address. Wow, their glass ornaments are gorgeous. The best part about the magazine was the cover, on which I was informed Artful Home is giving away one ornament a day until December 2nd!
You can sign up here. And check out all their ornaments online here.
I hope I win one! And I hope you do too! And if you do be sure to let me know, I want to see what you get!
