The Learning Curve
It started out ok. But let me tell you 500 staples later I was overwhelmed. It was clear my mom and I were not going to be able to finish this chair in a weekend. I’d definitely recommend taking pictures through the entire process of taking the chair apart so you know exactly how you need to put it back together.
I love the fabric she chose for me. Thank the heavens for camera phones and text messages! It was pretty fun to work with my mom on the project. Sir Luke even got in on the action and cut the new cushion out.
My mom is going to continue working on this lovely project until I can get back down there. Good times all around!
Smiling
I found out about Melancholy Smile through C Jane Run. She linked to a video done by Smile’s husband, Jared, about the Nie Nie balloon send off. The video was really touching. I loved the filming and editing. Beautiful.
Smile’s blog is lovely. She has a grand sense of style and a gorgeous family. It seems I have another role model in my life.
I have to say this is my favorite video by Jared. Mostly because I love robots. And I knew Capree would dig it too.

Pioneer Children
My childhood friend Keri came through Vegas last night on her drive back to California from Utah. Keri and I grew up together since age one. That’s a pretty dang long friendship.
I think we’ve probably had one argument in our entire friendship. I’m pretty sure it was over a boy. Keri didn’t think it was a big deal for the boy I liked to know I liked him. I thought differently. Being fifteen is so terribly hard.
Keri and I are about as opposite as a pair can be and I’m pretty sure that’s why we get along so well.
I love you Keri J!!!
Slow to Blog
I’m recovering from the long weekend. I’ll be back tomorrow with a regular post!
I hope everyone had a GRRRREAT weekend!
You should read this. It’s lovely and comforting.
NieNie Auction has ended!
Congratulations to Caroline!
I definitely need your contact information since I can’t link to a profile or blog through the comments. You can email me at:
meganruthstay (at) gmail (dot) com
or through the contact page on my website at www.megruth.com
If I don’t hear from Caroline within a week, Becca will become eligible for the prize!
Once we’ve gotten the contact information taken care of, I’ll need a copy of the receipt from the contribution made to the NieNie Recovery fund on Paypal. We’ll arrange a time and place to photograph that will be perfect for everyone. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks again for all of the responses!
My Mom’s Contribution to Nie Nie Day
My mom wanted to get involved in the Auction for Nie Nie Day. She doesn’t blog so I told her I’d host her auction. She has several books, all read once, available for purchase. We’d like to sell them for $15 for each set of 3 and $10 for each set of 2. This will be a first come first serve auction. Please leave a comment with your contact information (email) and we’ll coordinate the book purchase via the Nie Nie Recovery fund on Paypal.
