Photo Ideas: Part I

Over the next couple weeks I’m going to be talking about some fun things you can do with your engagement photos and bridal portraits on your wedding day. I love DIY projects and these will all be things you can do yourself or have printed up by MegRuth Photography!

Today I’m starting with alternate guest book signing options. There are so many great choices out there these days. From modern turns on traditional guest signing options to a different take altogether, these are sure to get your creativity flowing!

Photo Canvas for signing – Make a canvas with a wide border for guests to sign. Hang it in a triptych with canvas pieces from your wedding for a beautiful collection of art for your home! There is always a more traditional signing board as well!

Photo guest book – Guests love to look through engagement photos while they find their favorite and sign on the page. Fill entire pages with full page images and leave others with small details. It will make your book interesting as you page through it later on. You don’t have to constrict your guests with lines the write on. You will get many more notes if you leave the pages blank with photos here adn there. Remember you are telling a story whenever you make a photo book! I recommend Blurb.com for book making. It’s a great source. Just make sure you check the box for “upgraded paper.” It looks much better.

Memory Quilt – I am completely enamored with quilts these days; as evidence here. And I think this would be such a lovely memory for a couple to snuggle up with on cold nights and read notes from friends and family.

Photo cards – Post cards with the engagement photos are a great keepsake for the bride and groom. Each guest can sign a note the the couple to put in a keepsake box. Go through beautiful photos and read the notes each person has so thoughtfully written.
