Chelsey & Wes: The Westin at Lake Las Vegas

May 9, 2013  |  Posted by: Megan Stay

I sat in my car for ten minutes going over in my head how much I messed up the consultation with Chelsey. I texted Sir Luke, telling him I was going to go wallow at the thrift store. The next day I sent a text to my dear friend, Angelica from Green Orchid Events, and thanked her for the meeting, hoping it would work out. I knew it was hopeless. I was a rambling crazy face, there was no way Chelsey said she wanted to hire me to photograph her wedding.

Angelica: She LOVED you!! She found it to be a good fit as well. She is going to talk with Wes her fiance, but she sounded like she wanted to book. Fingers crossed! 2:22 PM

Me: Stop it! Really?!?! I thought I was rambling like a crazy person. I’ve been kicking myself! As soon as she said Star Wars I wanted them to be my couple!

The rest is history! I loved everything about these two. They are kind, thoughtful, and chose the best vendors for their amazing wedding day. It was so much fun and I loved every second. Plus it doesn’t hurt that they’re totally gorgeous. I mean really? Stunning.

One of my favorite parts of the wedding was the “party shirts” that the groom and his groomsman adorned. It’s like the mullet of the shirt world. Business in the front, off the hook party in the back. And yes, they did remove them to “Danger Zone.” Would you expect anything less from these fly boys?

Chelsey and Wes aren’t big dancers so they added a lot of other entertainment to the reception for their guests. Photo booth, airplane races with the place cards, and my favorite, live caricatures by the incomparable Girl Who Drew You. She blows my mind again and again. Chelsey didn’t have a photo of her veil, so she described it over the phone and Jessica was able to draw it with complete accuracy, unreal.

It was an incredible day filled with love and laughter.
