Display Thursday – Paint

I recently delved into a pretty intense painting project and it got me thinking about paint setting off a great photograph arrangement. I want to display a turtle photograph I took last year in Cancun on my freshly painted wall to make the photograph jump off the wall even more.

There are some great ways to showcase your portraits even more by highlighting them with a splash of color on the wall specifically designed for an arrangement of photographs. I love this one in the baby’s nursery. It adds to the decor of the room and can fill this giant wall because the images are large and accented by an even larger painted area.

Paint is also a great way to join together a grouping of seemingly mismatched items. From family photographs to artwork or flea market finds, painting out a decorative section can tie it all together. I love  how this is done on the dining room wall.

enhance the color scheme of your entire room by color blocking on many different walls. It looks great and moves the eye through the entire space. This could easily be done with a minimal amount of paint or work! I especially love the paint that appears to go across the doorway with photographs flanking the opening.

Paint can seem scary and permanent but it is really easy to do and change. I scour the reject paint section at home improvement stores and get gallon buckets for only $5!
