Downtown Las Vegas Engagement Photos: Chelsey & Wes

I am so glad that Angelica from Green Orchid Events connected me with Chelsey and Wes. There is a a such a lovely bond between these two. It’s a genuine, calm, and very strong love. There is no doubt that they will have a wonderful wedding day and absolutely fantastic marriage.

Vegas isn’t known for chilly weather, but in the week leading up to their engagement session we had snow and temperatures in the 20s! Thankfully the sun made an appearance and we had perfect 60 degree weather! We started the afternoon out at the Arts District in downtown Las Vegas. This area is full of murals, graffiti, and amazing architecture. And although I make every image about my couples, it’s always fun to use beautiful surroundings to enhance each moment.

After a quick wardrobe change, we headed off to the Smith Center for the Performing Arts. This building melts my heart. Art deco is so romantic. And I found out that Wes sucked up his Air force manhood and took Chelsey to see The Nutcracker there the month before. I’m always so impressed when men who aren’t into something their loved one is, takes the time and effort to make them happy. Even if they’re kind of miserable. So telling of the kind of person they are!

We finished the engagement session at Fremont Street under the vintage neon lights that grace every structure in this old school Vegas gem. We finished just before the cold came back out!

Tip: Your engagement session is a perfect opportunity to test run hair and makeup ideas for your wedding day. Chelsey chose the fabulous hair and makeup team, Your Beauty Call. When you have a team that knows how to complete a look for photos to last the length of the day and tears, you will be so pleased you made the decision to hire professionals. I completely recommend it!

So looking forward to their wedding at the Westin at Lake Las Vegas in April. It’s going to be beautiful and full of love!
