Indiscreet

I watched Indescreet a few weeks ago on TCM. It’s the tale of a lonely actress falling for the handsome Phillip Adams. Complete with witty banter and awkward ho-down by Grant it’s a winner. I have to say it is one of the most beautifully designed movies I have ever seen. There isn’t much in the way of photographs from the film available online. But I was able to scrounge up a couple.

Indescreet stars Carey Grant and Ingrid Bergman. It’s a typical 50s film with subtle amusement and complete romanticism. Ingrid Bergman is stunning. Don Ashton was responsible for the art direction and did an exquisite job, right down to the breakfast dishes. Really gorgeous. The wardrobe was amazing as well. With costuming by Pierre Balmain and Christian Dior it’s not a wonder that everything was superb.

I’d suggest you Netflix it and get a couple decoration ideas. I’m temped to rent it just to see it all again.
