We Love Families: Hepworth Brood on Mt. Charleston

I’ve never been to Mt. Charleston so when Justin and Lindsay said they wanted to venture to the snowy mountain for their Christmas photos I pretty much jumped at the chance. Here is a fact about me, I don’t own snow gear. As in last Christmas I wore toms in three feet of snow in Boston whilst shopping the day after Christmas….I was very wet and cold. My least favorite combination.

So what did I bring to the snow? Rain boots and a measly jacket. I did have knee-high socks on and a couple layers of shirts. But when I stepped outside the car into 30 degree temperatures I was not prepared. So out of the kindness of Lindsay’s heart she let me don her coat that she opted not to wear and another pair of boots she had which were actually equipped for snow. Heaven bless her because I would have frozen had she not!

This was one of the most fun shoots I’ve done! I loved all the clothes they chose to wear too! Romping in the snow actually made me want to try out snowshoeing! Have you done that before? Is it super fun?! It just seems like an awesome time. Plus less digging down into the abyss of snow. Also, it turns out when you’re wearing actual snow gear it’s not so bad!

The snowball fight between Justin and Garrett was classic. Snow flying in the sunlight is gorgeous! Don’t you think?

So what about you? Would you venture into the snow for photos?
