Wild, wild horses

I recently learned that I’m allergic to horses. Upon spending a few hours with my brothers ponies (Sir Luke always gets on my case for calling horses, ponies. Can you blame a girl who grew up with purple and pink My Littles?). I broke out into hives in Idaho while on a trip with my mom and the truth was manifest in little red blotches all over my arms. So, so sad. But that didn’t stop me from jumping at the chance to see wild horses in the wild.

After we headed out to Gilcrease Orchard last week, Emily and I drove another 35 minutes out of town to Cold Creek to hopefully see some wild horses. I honestly didn’t think we’d see any at all. Or maybe one or two. But…we didn’t see one, we saw about 40! It was unreal. We ran into a group of three older retired men who take it upon themselves to “take care of God’s creatures.” They were adorable and guided us around Cold Creek to see as many as possible. Of course it didn’t hurt that they had 30lbs of carrots in the back of their van.

It was an amazing morning.
