Jill and Eric: Engaged! / Los Angeles Engagement Photographer

Posted on Jan 7, 2010

I’ve known Jill for many years. We grew up together in California. I met her and her fiance Eric down at the Santa Monica Pier. It was such a difference being there in the early morning hours than mid afternoon on a Saturday. I loved how few people were out and about.

To California I go!

Posted on Dec 18, 2009

I’m off to California for a few days over Christmas. If you would like a session whilst I venture let me know!

I’m booked the 26th and 28th. And I won’t be working Christmas, and neither should you! So shoot me an email (meganruthstay (at) gmail (dot) com) and we’ll have some fun in the SoCal sun.

You may recognize the Melgars from our Murder Mystery party. They are so fun to be around and I had a blast running after Atticus. He was such a cutie and a total ham. He made some awesome faces but mom wasn’t having any of it. Hence squish face (see below).

My pricing will increase January 1, 2010 (can you believe 2009 is nearly over?!) so book now to secure your 2009 pricing (even if you book for next year). My print pricing will remain the same but all sessions and wedding packages will increase.

Enjoy the fun we had!

Moving…

Posted on Dec 1, 2009

Don’t worry, I’m not moving in the real world. Just in the world of the wide web. I decided it was time to separate my personal adventures form my professional one. Since Tess and I both loved Mrs. MRS so much I’m going back to that. So you can catch up with my antics over at TheMrsMRS.blogspot.com. I’d love for you to join in my exploits.

I figured not everyone who wants to see how I’m painting my bathrooms wants to see my latest pictures and probably not everyone visiting for the sake of my pictures wants to see my crazy striped bathroom.

I hope you’ll join me in both endeavors!

Much love and appreciation for your support and friendship,
Meg

I love the Goodriches! They are some great friends of ours and I was so happy to be able to photograph their cute family a couple weeks ago. The best part of the day was running into a cute little froggie.

I don’t think I love any place better in Vegas than Red Rock. It’s so beautiful!

Our newly painted bathroom

Posted on Nov 20, 2009

Sir Luke was gone for a few days a couple weeks ago and I decided to surprise him by painting our master bathroom. I got some free paint from Glidden over the summer (Lavender Phlox) and decided I was going to be brave and do some horizontal stripes.

I started by painting the entire bathroom in Behr’s Eggnog. I attempted to paint in only the exposed spots so I wouldn’t paint multiple times. The taping off was the most insane part. My laser level was less level than I hoped…and I miscalculated my stripes….so it didn’t quite work out how I envisioned BUT I’m really happy with the results

I want to put up one of my photos from my adventures at the Cactus Gardens. I want it to be giant and framed in a light wood and a wide white mat. I chose my lavender flower

What do you think? Do you think I’ve gone totally batty with the stripes? Our builder decided that a giant random shelf int he bathroom was a swell idea. So it will end up housing scads of white orchids. I’ll be painting the vanity Eggnog as well. But for now I’m taking a painting break.

I promise I’m going to start working on my headboard ASAP and do a little how-to video.
