Cobbler

Posted on May 20, 2009

I don’t know that I’ve made it known on the blog yet but I got released from my calling at church in WEBELOS and am now an adviser for the Mia Maids (14-16 year old girls). I’m pretty excited about it too!

My first activity was a cobbler making day to help raise money for their girl’s camp this summer. They mushed up the crumbly cobber top in a zip-lock bag, some got way more creative in the mushing than others (see below). It was a lot of fun!

Mother’s Day Crafting

Posted on May 19, 2009

This year I decided to make some cards for Sir Luke and my mothers. I found an old western history book I bought for collaging and did a homemade card. I wish I had better handwriting.

The Derricks

Posted on May 18, 2009

How absolutely gorgeous is this family? We had a blast out at Red Rock. Attention spans were running short but the promises of milkshakes kept smiles on faces. A big thanks to the Derricks for letting me capture their family.

Can you believe how blue all of their eyes are? Crazy. You can view the entire session here.

If you’d like to book a session shoot me an email (meganruthstay at gmail dot com)! I’d love to set something up.

I Still Exist

Posted on May 15, 2009

I Promise. But Sir Luke and I are house-sitting/babysitting/chauffeuring for a family at our church and have been running amok for the last two days. Hence my lack of posting the last couple of days. I meant to…and then…

Well here’s a sneak peek of a shoot I did this week. Be ready for a stunning family. They are all gorgeous people. Good heavens.

Say hello to cute baby pudge.

If you aren’t ready for kids at this point, by next week, you will be.

Instaproofs

I love Instaproofs. They are a great company for up and coming photographers because they only charge you once you’ve got prints ordered. Host unlimited photos for free.

Genius.

It’s a great way to share professional family and wedding photos with loved ones. Just post the link on your blog or send it out in an email.

Now there is another awesome way to share your photos. Mini shops! Just like Etsy! I sent an email to Instaproofs a couple weeks ago asking if they could do something like the Etsy mini shops for each album on Instaproofs. This way clients can post their photos to their blog or website and anyone can order prints from the event!

I thought that Adam (the Instaproofs guy) had forgotten about me after we exchanged a couple emails but yesterday he sent me news that it was done! I’m really stoked that it all worked out. I think it will be great for everyone.

So hop on over to my little shop and grab one from your event today! It’s really easy. Go to your event on megruth.instaproofs.com on the top of the gallery there are a bunch of different options for sharing, Facebook, Digg, etc. Now there is a blogger button. Click that and it takes you to this screen:

You choose the size you want your images and then post the code in a widget or in a post like this one!

Wah-lah!

What do you think?

Cinco De Mayo

Posted on May 11, 2009

We decided to have the Goodriches over for a Cinco de Mayo feast! Sir Luke made his famous enchiladas, beans, and rice. I had him do a few modifications to keep them less fatty this time and they did not dissapoint. He thinks they were his best ever and I tend to agree.

Try not to salivate on your computer. They don’t respond well to moisture.
