Yellow & Grey Treasures

Come see my etsy treasury! I was completely confused for a while. I created two by accident and got an earful from the powers that be. But in the end I got to show my treasury!

Indiscreet

Posted on May 19, 2008

I watched Indescreet a few weeks ago on TCM. It’s the tale of a lonely actress falling for the handsome Phillip Adams. Complete with witty banter and awkward ho-down by Grant it’s a winner. I have to say it is one of the most beautifully designed movies I have ever seen. There isn’t much in the way of photographs from the film available online. But I was able to scrounge up a couple.

Indescreet stars Carey Grant and Ingrid Bergman. It’s a typical 50s film with subtle amusement and complete romanticism. Ingrid Bergman is stunning. Don Ashton was responsible for the art direction and did an exquisite job, right down to the breakfast dishes. Really gorgeous. The wardrobe was amazing as well. With costuming by Pierre Balmain and Christian Dior it’s not a wonder that everything was superb.

I’d suggest you Netflix it and get a couple decoration ideas. I’m temped to rent it just to see it all again.

Rolleiflex MiniDigi AF5.0

Posted on May 14, 2008

Sir Luke Stumbled Upon this last week. Somehow I managed to miss it until today. Now I want one. Bad. Real bad. I’m in love with this Rolleiflex Mini Digi and I must have it!

I’ve wanted a film Rolleiflex for ages and ages. The cost has never been justifiable and I couldn’t find a good deal on ebay.com. I bought my Field View camera back in 2005 and never looked back. It’s produced some of my favorite images to date.

But I’m pretty sure that the Rollei Mimi Digi could be my new new favorite. Just after I earn enough money shooting with my latest love.

Website Uploaded!

Thanks to Sir Luke‘s skills and my minimal design attempts I have a website.

You can visit at www.megruth.com

Turns out, choosing a domain name is really hard. I wasn’t sure if I should use my full new name or stick with the tried and true megruth. I’ve been using megruth for ages and it’s fairly Google-able. And Google-ability is imperative in this day and age. Have no fear my friends, you can also go to www.meganruthstay.com and be directed to my website as well.

I feel like, now, I have some credibility when I tell people I’m a photographer. I can finally direct someone to a website!

Sir Luke has loaded two of my portfolios already and a third will be up in a couple weeks. I’m working on processing all of the wedding images I shot last weekend for the Barnes/Smith wedding. I can’t wait for you to see them! There are a lot of goodies. The Barnes family is a family full of real characters.

Thank you for pushing me to reach my goals Sir Luke, I love you so much.

Happy Mother’s Day!

My mother is crazy amazing. She’s also amazingly crazy and I adore her. We definitely had out clashes growing up but I think our relationship is very strong. I’ve becoming increasingly interested in my family history in the past couple years. I’m happy to say that this woman is part of my history.
