Don’t Judge Me

Posted on Mar 20, 2008

I like American Idol this season.

Rory, my work buddy, tells me that’s what happens when you have nothing to do. So clearly being unemployed is my excuse for liking it.

As much as I want to root for the Momos David and Brooke, but I have a fondness for Carly. Maybe it’s the accent and the tattoos or her pretty freaking awesome voice.

Judge me, I dare you. But I know there is a monster lurking in your closet as well. And it won’t be pretty.

Dorothy Loves the Wizard

Posted on Mar 20, 2008

I del.icio.us’d this a month or so ago and forgot about it. If I were still riding the subway every morning on the way to work I would totally listen to this on my iPod.

You can get a few classics on this website.

freeclassicaudiobooks.com

But I want to listen to Dorothy hang out with Eureka, Zeb and nine piglets.

If I could go shopping right now this is what I would buy from OldNavy.com:

If I could go shopping at Target.com, this would be my collection:

Spring has sprung.

A Year of Evenings

I loved the year of mornings by Stephanie and Mav. Lucky for them they get to publish last year’s mornings in a book.

This year they are photographing a year of evenings.

Glorious.

Chandy Candy

I found this lighting site through Design Milk.

I didn’t think I liked chandeliers, but it turns out, I DO!

I think this Caboche chandelier might blind my guests at the dinner table, but in a vaulted entryway it would really shine.

I’ve actually been wanting to make a Random Light like this one, only in red. I don’t think it would be too hard with a little twine and Modpogde and a gigantic balloon.

I think the latter is a little more feasible than the first. Thoughts?

Resolution Re-evaluation

So far I have:

Started my Etsy shop (not sold anything…yet!)
Produced one photograph a week (good or bad)
Decorated 1.5 rooms in my house, mostly decorated
Made three delicious meals a week, even if they weren’t from scratch
Bought a Wii and beat Sir Luke at boxing, multiple times
Tried to type emails, chats and texts with correct punctuation and grammar
Spent more time with my family, thanks to a move across the country

I’d say I’m doing fairly well so far. It turns out that writing your goals down does actually help, who knew?

Tonight, after my first day of my new job (it was pretty great, minus being a total vagrant) I came home to a clean house and laundry (thanks to a wonderful husband) and made a delicious meal. It was my first attempt at a real recipe and I think I did pretty well.

Don’t judge me. I am not Liz Duffy, nor am I Judd Pilossof. But Sir Luke and I both enjoyed it immensely! Hooray for resolutions!
