Vivian Maier

Posted on Jan 8, 2011

I wanted to share a this beautifully romantic photo from street photographer Vivian Maier. She lived in Chicago in the 60s as nanny and photographed constantly. I’d love to do an engagement shoot on a train. How gorgeous would that be?!

Her street photography is brilliant, romantic and graphic. Her collection of negatives has been hidden away from the public for decades and was recently purchased by a man working on a book about Chicago. After he realized what he found he started scanning and posting the images online. I totally recommend watching this news report. It’s totally amazing.

Check out the blog to view the growing collection. Her work is on par or better thank the greats like Robert Frank or Gary Winogrand.

Ripley!

Posted on Jan 6, 2011

Believe it or not! We got a puppy for Christmas (well yesterday). I am over the moon and love her to bits. She’s the sweetest little thing and loves to snuggle and cuddle.

She’s nearly impossible to photograph because all she wants to do is lay in my lap if I get anywhere near the floor. LOVE IT! Just what I needed to keep me company when Sir Luke goes out of town. It’s still pretty frequent and might increase so she comes at a great time.

She’s a Cocker Spaniel and I love her frilly legs. Sir Luke keeps calling her eyebrows, which is amusing but I’m glad we finally decided on a name. Seriously, if it’s this hard to name a dog I can’t imagine how hard it would be to name a person. Heaven, help us.

These books are A-mazing. I love them.

I just gave the pictured books to a client last week and she loved them. It was so much fun to see how happy she was with them!

The books come in a set of three which makes them the perfect gifts for family and friends that need a little bit of you in their lives. If you’re having trouble choosing which images you want to purchase why not get a bunch in one adorable package? Perfect for bragging grand parents, no?

The books are printed on a beautiful art paper or pearl (a little sparkle for you!). They each come with a frosted cover to protect them if you tote them around in your purse! Set them on your desk at work or the mantle.

I love them. I know you will too! Order them through my proofing site here when you login to your event.

Canvas

Posted on Dec 21, 2010

Canvas fine art pieces are stunning as wall decor in any home. I’m going to be sharing a few ideas for configuration of photographs in the new year to help you figure out how you want to place your favorite images from MegRuth Photography!

Canvases art pieces are printed on high quality canvas and are protected with a UV coating to help them last for generations.

All canvases 11×14 and smaller have a 1.5″ profile (that’s how far it sits off the wall) and all canvases larger than 11×14 will have a 2.5″ profile. The piece below is a 24×30 with a 2.5″ profile. I love it!
