Sir Luke

Only a truly devoted husband would pose in your sunglasses in the possible location of a bunch of wedding photos.

Dam Wedding Location

Posted on Aug 6, 2008

We got to the Dam and realized in the 115 degree heat walking a mile to the observation deck from the free parking spots around the Hoover Dam was not going to happen. It is a super rad place. I’d recommend it. We decided to pay for parking and got to the Dam Tour and realized that it also cost money. That’s when we name dropped the wedding party and were able to get a private escort, Cathy, to take us to the observation deck. I’m not sure how the wedding is going to work up there. But it’s an amazing view and pretty killer. I suggest it. The water level has gotten super low though.

Cactus Garden

Sir Luke and I went on a couple adventures on Saturday. We headed over to Casey’s Camera and got me some new toys. I finally got a polarizing filter. I had no idea what I was missing.

I’m shooting a wedding this week for some rad people from Ohio who are getting married on the Hoover Dam. That’s right the Hoover Dam. Too awesome for words. We’ll be doing the formal photos at the Cactus Garden after the ceremony and dam tour.

We decided to scout the locations before the big day. Sir Luke brought his 35mm Canon and used some of my old slide film. It was a fun photo adventure. I was definitely in need. The Cactus Garden is hosted by Ethel M’s Chocolate. You can take a tour of the chocolate factory and tour the gardens for FREE! If you’re coming down for a visit it’s a must.

Bees

While Sir Luke and I were in Utah we stayed with the Bruderers. Britta and I were best pals in school at BYU. I photographed the birth of Ben back in May. It was really awesome to be there for the whole event. Such happiness everywhere!

Being a photographer, Britta has loads of photographs of Ben by himself and Ben with her husband Scott. It’s a rare occasion that Britta has any pictures of her and Ben together. So whilst we were there we did an impromptu shoot. Only problem was Ben wasn’t feeling the love. He’s been teething and was pretty uncomfortable.

I think we ended up with some good stuff regardless.

I’ll Walk it Out, Will You?

I found this video on my friend Dasha’s blog. Umm, AMAZING

This is mostly for Amy, Katie, and Sir Luke. I’m most interested in mastering the move at the 2:50 mark.
