The Great Loop

Posted on Jul 3, 2008

Sir Luke and I will be making the trek to Bakersfield on the fourth of July morning. We’re meeting my parental units there and then heading on to our final destination in Yosemite Valley. We used to go every year up until I was twelve. None of my siblings have ever been before so it will be fun to finally go there and share memories with my whole family.

This is also a significant trip because it’s the first family vacation I’ve been on where I wasn’t the only single sibling. In case you don’t know me for real I am the youngest of five kids. Two from my mother’s first marriage and two from my father’s. There are fourteen years between me and my sister closest in age to me and nineteen years between me and my oldest sister. What this all means is that I’ve been an aunt since I was six and have been blessed with the nick name spoiled.

I can’t wait to drive into the valley to see this glorious sight once again!

I learned to ride my bike in Yosemite, I had my first S’more, and I caught loads of butterflies. If you haven’t been plan a trip. It’s unbelievable in the Spring. Make your reservations now! You have to a year in advance.

Neon Boneyard

Who wants to come to Vegas and go on a photo adventure with me? I found out about this the other day at work when some fellow aspiring photographers were talking about taking a class and going to the Neon Bone yard for $300 with a class.

The Neon Museum/Bone yard is a couple lots full of broken down portions of old neon signs. The only problem is you are at the will of the volunteers that run the place. You have to make a reservation for $15/person. And they can pretty much cancel if they don’t feel like showing up and letting you in. I’m sure if i got a group of people to go we could all get going. Search for some of the images in Google. There are some really awesome signs.

So who’s with me?

I’m dreaming of being back at the beach. Mondays always have that effect on me.

Shoot! The Day

I signed up on Photoshelter to be part of their big event in stock photography called “Shoot! The Day

On July 20, 2008 I am to take pictures of whatever I am doing and submit them to the ever growing pile of stock images floating around in cyber-world. We’ll see how it goes. Hopefully well.

In other news: I think it’s sad that my communication with my friends is coming down to sharing blogs on Google Reader.
