I’M NOT HOMELESS ANYMORE!!!!!!

Good news folks, I have found a place to live. I’m staying in the same ward up in Inwood, but now I will actually live in Inwood. It’s right near the church, which is nice. We’ll see if I end up going to that ward or trekking down to the Union Square ward so I can go to church with Christopher!

Thank heavens! Now I can finally breathe!

Just a Thought

This is my first video blog. I thought it would be fun and a little different. Sorry to those of you, Kathy, that can’t watch my videos. It’s about 5 and a half minutes. Anyway, I’m not great at these things but hopefully I will get better.

Oh and the sorry Jared is mainly because Jared doesn’t like video blogs…at least, that’s what I rememebered.

Oh and I’m still trying to find a place to live when I have to move out in two weeks because the girl whose place I was going to look at tomorrow gave it to someone else last night after I talked with her…people are really awesome sometimes…

Damaging Images

Reuters is a news agency that hires out freelance photographers to cover the war in Iraq and other such waring nations in the Middle East. This kind of photography is called editorial which means it is not manipulated. it is straight forward, you catch it while it’s happening, you tell a story with your images. This kind of editorial is different from magazine editorial which is generally an on location shoot with an individual that is set up but tells the natural story of the person, often in their own enviornment.

Reuters hires a lot of reelance photographers that are already living in the Middle East to shoot including this guy Adnan Hajj. Well Hajj is about the dumbest guy (i refuse to call him a photographer) I know up to this point. Reuters had for a period of two weeks lowered its system of checks for uploading images onto their server, which is when Hajj decided he could upload any images he wanted, icluding those that he had manipulated to look more devastating than normal.

Apparently no one taught him how to properly use the cloning tool, which, in case you don’t know, copies one part of your image over another part.

Thanks, Hajj, for making all of us less credible…you’re a real winner or is it weiner?

Sing Sing

It was Sarah’s last night in the city and we thought it only fitting to go out and eat at a yummy resturaunt and celebrate friends and good eats.

We were happy just heading and chatting and reminiscing old times when we looked over and realized there was a man setting up equipment on the far side of the room.

Now Jesse’s Place isn’t very large so I wasn’t sure how a band could play unless it was a one man band with all of his instruments strapped to him, much like Dick VanDyke’s character in the beginning of Mary Poppins. Then we realized that they were going to be doing KARAOKE!!!!

Oh my amazing! I’m too chicken and chose to watch an laugh and sing along from our table but eveyrone else got up there an made Sarah’s last night in the sweat city one of her favorites!

It’s took bad we didn’t know that Jesse’s place was four blocks from our house a little earlier in the summer! But in the end it was a great surprise and fully one of the most fun times I’ve ever had.

Jared busted out a
rendition of Phill
Collins
“Take A Look At Me NOW” oh man it was glorious, as you can tell by Hillary and John’s dancing

I don’t think any of us will ever go to another karaoke night without John, he stole the show!
